Journal - Week 4

Another week down, and this quarter is going faster then I thought it was going to go. I made a lot of progress on my topic this week (meaning I finally got what I really want to research set in stone). I had an idea, but was having a lot of trouble finding the actual topic that was global enough and that would work for this particular assignment. I think what really pushed me to narrow it down and make a final decision was the Research Plan assignment. It helped me to organize all my ideas to a concise plan. The Selecting Information Sources assignment showed me what sources were going to be my best bet at getting good information and which sources would be harder to get useful information from. The assignment that I enjoyed the most was the two part assignment “How I know”. Looking up the origin for the word Canuck was interesting. It was surprising how many different origins there were. Classmates chose a few different meanings and origins, but a lot of people went with the majority or the most common one they could find. I loved the lecture “Theories of Knowledge”. It really made me think about what I know is true and how much more there really is to explore out there.
